Placable end of the year in Valencia
The conditions for the second test of Max on his Honda CBR1000RR could not have been better. Temperatures about 20 degrees and blue sky in Valencia were made for the test program. On Wednesday Max carefully approached to his limit, but he did not have full confidence in the bike here and there.
Max started the test with very high expectations at himself and finished the first day a little bit disappointed with one second behind his team mate J. Rea. But the second day should bring a turnaround. Round after round Max got more confidence in his Honda CBR 1000 RR. After the lunchbreak he performed extremely well with constant lap times around 1:35 min. This was a relief for Max and his complete Ten Kate Honda Crew. In his fastest lap he achieved a time of 1:34,7 min which was only half a second slower than J. Rea. All together Max made 160 laps without any health or physical problems during both days.
Max: „On Wednesday I did not had the trust in the bike yet and I worried about it a lot, although the achievement was better compared to Portimao. Today the feeling for the bike came back round after round. Around midday I also had full trust in the traction control. Then I could constantly ride times around 1:35 min and the fun and my smile under the helmet were there again. I would like to say thanks to my team for the confidence they have shown me. The good preparation in the gym has paid off. Despite 160 laps I had no problems and I feel very well. The most important thing is that I start with a very good feeling into the new year.
