Important insights at Assen test
Max completed a two-day test at Assen together with the entire Ten Kate Honda team. The main focus of the test was to eliminate the annoying chatter problems which deter Max year-round from better performances. A number of approaches were tried in order to get to the bottom of these problems.
Max: "We went to Assen with a long list. I did almost two hundred laps on both days and we were able to isolate and solve some problems. We were able to get rid of some of the chatter which has plagued me throughout the year. We found a good solution for the rear. In Misano we want to work on the front swing arm and the electronics, I’m sure we have some potential with that. I tried the swingarm that Jonathan uses but it hasn’t brought any result, so I went back to the normal Honda Kit swingarm. We have to keep on working concentrated step by step now because I know that my potential is much higher than the performances previously showed. The test was a first step in the right direction. It was much easier for me doing fast laps and also the lap times were better than during the races two months ago here in Assen..."
