Friday didn’t pan out ideal for Max

Max struggles with heavy chassis problems on the first day of the race on Phillip Island. At the end of the first qualifying session he saw himself on the eighteenth position on the time schedule. Both Ten Kate Honda riders could not reach their times of the test.

The biggest problems are the two fast turns at the beginning and at the end of the beautiful track on Phillip Island. As soon as Max opens the gas the rear wheel starts spinning and thus prevents better lap times. During tomorrow's practices several changes shall lead to success.

Max: "I am disappointed and helpless. After the little blooper in the morning we were able to make further progress. Unfortunately there was no more new tire available in this session. In the afternoon we used the 200-tire like any other rider too. They worked relatively well at the bike of my team mate. I, on the contrary, had a heavy chattering starting with the first round. The problem is that we do not know exactly where it comes from. It is clearly visible in the data recording. It could be the chassis or the tires. During the test I was 1.5 seconds faster and this morning I found the times no trouble. In the qualifying I could not achieve these times even with new tires and maximal input. Right now I’m just sliding across the track. Tomorrow we need to solve this problem expressly. But I am still in good spirits; it can only get better ..."
